Sandy is a proud Aboriginal woman hailing from the Dunghutti and Gumbayngrrii clans of New South Wales.
From an early age, Sandy had an innate love for dance and performance training in both traditional dance, classical ballet and making her acting debut in a professional Indigenous theatre company at the age of 8.
After completing an Honours degree in Theatre Studies at the QLD University of Technology she went on to pursue her passion for theatre, education and cultural awareness. Refining her craft on dusty basketball courts and old school sheds around remote regions of Australia performing for hundreds high schools with various groups such as Zeal Theatre and The Real TV Project. Sandy’s early educational productions helped to give young people an insight into the real history of Australia.
Sandy later relocated to Sydney landing a critical role in Sydney Theatre Company’s production of Stolen and cast alongside the country’s leading female stage actors (including Golden Globe nominee Jackie Weaver) in The Vagina Monologues.
Continuing her professional development in 2006, Sandy trained at David Mamet’s Atlantic Acting School in New York and the Lewis Smith Acting studio in Los Angeles.
The following year, she travelled back to the states to perform for the Seattle Children’s Theatre in Washington and made her US Independent film debut in The World Full of Nothing.
More recently Sandy has added reporter and newsreader to her repertoire on National Indigenous Television's highest rating program The Marngrook Footy Show, Performed extensively in Prisons and Detention Centres with Australia’s leading Indigenous Theatre Company and worked alongside Robert DeNiro and Jason Statham in the 2011 US film The Killer Elite.
With Sandy's passion, strong perception for artistic integrity and diverse body of work her stardom seems somewhat imminent.
